Installation
When we talk about installation, we mean fitting the cabinets and the benchtop. There are other items in the kitchen which are not necessarily covered by this term.
Fitting the sink into the top is covered, but fitting the tap and all other associated plumbing work is not covered - you need a plumber to perform these tasks.
Cutting the hole for the hob and making sure it fits is covered, as is making sure the oven fits properly. However, the job of fixing these itmes in place and any sealing issues is the job of the electrician or the gas fitter.
When it comes to appliances - the rule of thumb is that who ever touches it last is responsible for it. We have found on some occasions that an electrician will wire up a hob, but will then not clamp it down or align it properly - saying that this is the kitchen installer's responsibility. Wrong!! Once the plumber/electrician has attached supply, they should leave it in fully completed and fixed.
Fitting of the rangehood flu is not covered unless detailed on the plan. Laser cutting of a rangehood flu always carries a surcharge.
Ducting falls under building work, this is not covered unless agreed on the plan.
All other decorating, flooring, building work, electrical, plumbing is not covered under the term "installation".
