What happens after installation?

As we have already mentioned in the previous section, the installer should leave the kitchen "tidy". It will still need a thorough clean to render it acceptable for use.

In the next few days you will load up your shelves and drawers and you may find that you experience a couple of alignment issues. Sometimes doors and drawers can "settle", plus adding weight into a drawer can cause it to move downwards by a mm or so. This is a minute amount, but enough to make a drawer rub on another one.

This is normal - it is not poor installation or poor quality - all doors and drawers are made so that they can be adjusted in all directions to get that perfect fit. All you need is a phillips screwdriver

Doors

  • Up and Down - loosen the screws as shown and move the door up or down to suit
  • Left and right - simply adjust the screw as shown. Turning the screw clockwise will make the door come away from the carcass, anti-clockwise will make it go back toward the carcass.
  • In and out - loosen the screw at the back of the hinge. Simply pull or push the door to suit.

Drawers

  • Up and down - turn the screw as shown. Rotate clockwise makes the drawer move up, anti-clockwise - down.
  • Left and right - loosen the screws shown - move the drawer front which ever way it needs to move. Then tighten screws.

If you experience further difficulty and require service, then contact the showroom where you made the purchase.

Appliances

Appliances should be left so that it is easy for the electrician or gas fitter to complete.

The trades person who touches the appliance last is responsible for aligning and securing the appliance.
