Engineered Stone is a man made stone, its made up of resin and stone, and has qualities such as having almost seamless joins, its non porous - doesn’t need to be resealed, and comes in a large range of modern colours. These tops do need templating - if you want to do a composite bench, you need to prepare to be without a working kitchen for up to two weeks.

There are different types, each being differently priced.

Roxx is 6mm thick on an MDF substrate. It gives you the effect of having a solid surface bench top, but is not as expensive. 30mm tops to 50mm tops are usually about the same price, as they are all mitred on the edge. Check out www.roxx.co.nz you can order samples which will be sent direct to you.

Stoneology is a similar principal to www.roxx.co.nz, but is 10mm thick. www.stoneology.co.nz

Caesarstone is a solid composite bench top, with no substrate. It comes 20mm and 30mm thick, and can be mitred up thicker.
