Acrylic is a synthetic resin (plastic) based material. Its major advantage over all the other tops is that you get perfect joins. When the top is fitted, resin is applied into the joins, then sanded off so the join becomes invisible. The material is also non-porous, so it has excellent hygiene properties. There is also a huge colour range to choose from.

Just like other bench tops aside from laminate, it needs to be templated.

There are a few different manufacturers; the cheapest type of acrylic is infinity, which is what we call a ‘blank’. They are pre-made sheets which the manufacture purchases, and cuts and fits to your kitchen, but have a limited colour range, and only two thickness options - but is cheapest!
